Chrizia Feliciano-Bengoa
Hi, I’m Chrizia. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I’m currently a Senior at The University of Miami, pursuing a BBA in Marketing and Finance with a minor in Studio Art. Art has been a great part of my life since I started painting in 9th grade of High School.
I have a very open, social, and outgoing persona. However, my artistic career has helped me to filter life with a different perspective; one I show throughout my artwork. Art has shown me how to take a step back, slow down the pace, and look at my surroundings. Finding the tranquility necessary to appreciate the details, I’ve developed the ability of practice: failing before improving and not quitting until reaching satisfaction. In other words, with the fondness developed, I’ve reached a level of determination that I now apply to every other aspect in my life. In art I found something I’m good at, a talent I didn’t know I possessed. Most importantly, it enlarged a passion in me that I want to continue pursuing for the rest of my life.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find midpoints that connect the idea I’ve been assigned and what am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most controversial.
